Nvidia has joined forces with MediaTek to develop a new scaler for gaming monitors, called G-Sync Pulsar. This new technology aims to eliminate the need for the existing proprietary G-Sync module, significantly reducing production costs.

The partnership was announced at the Gamescom trade show in Cologne, Germany. Three monitors, the Asus ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR, the Acer Predator XB273U F5, and the AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, will be among the first to incorporate G-Sync Pulsar technology.

These new 27-inch monitors, boasting 360Hz refresh rates and 2,560 x 1,440 resolutions, are due out later this year. While pricing details haven't been disclosed, they are expected to be more affordable than traditional G-Sync monitors, which can cost up to $800.
