Nvidia's consumer AI PC processor could launch in September 2025
Nvidia's AI PC processor may launch for consumers in Sept 2025.
Nvidia is reportedly planning to release its AI PC processor in the third quarter of 2025, with a commercial launch following in March 2026. This initiative positions Nvidia as a competitor against Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD in the AI PC processor field, with MediaTek and possibly Dell collaborating on the project.
The planned processor will utilize an Arm-based platform, a significant shift for Nvidia, which previously focused on data center chips and mobile processors. This development comes amid Qualcomm's exclusive license for Arm Windows processors nearing its end, while a legal conflict with Arm creates an opening for other manufacturers.
While Nvidia's move expands the Arm PC market, consumer interest in AI PCs is currently low. Additionally, software adaptation remains a key challenge, as it is uncertain whether Windows can successfully transition major applications to Arm, similar to Apple's success with Apple Silicon.
