Nvidia's new RTX 5070 will deliver 'RTX 4090 performance at $549' when it launches in February

Nvidia's new RTX 5070 offers RTX 4090 performance at a third of the price, thanks to DLSS 4 technology.

: Nvidia has introduced the RTX 5070, promising RTX 4090 performance for just $549, significantly lower than the $1,599 original price. This performance boost is likely due to Nvidia's new DLSS 4 technology and Multi Frame Generation, which enhances gaming experience by generating additional frames. The RTX 5070, along with other models like the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, is part of the RTX Blackwell series, which also includes the transformative 'transformer' model for its DLSS stack. The new GPUs will become available in early 2025, with various models launching from January to February.

During the CES 2025 event, Nvidia's CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, unveiled the new RTX Blackwell GeForce GPUs, highlighting the RTX 5070, which is set to deliver RTX 4090-level performance at a reduced price of $549. This pricing marks a dramatic drop from the original RTX 4090's $1,599, making high-end GPU capabilities more accessible to a broader audience looking for cost-effective yet powerful gaming solutions.

The impressive performance claims are largely attributed to Nvidia's latest DLSS 4.0 technology with the Multi Frame Generation feature. This technology enables one frame to be computed and up to three more to be generated through AI, thus boosting frame rates in compatible applications. This state-of-the-art AI frame generation allows the new RTX 5070 to achieve a similar gaming experience to that of the RTX 4090, without relying solely on hardware improvements.

The RTX Blackwell series features four models, including the top-tier RTX 5090 priced at $1,999 and offering twice the power of the previous Ada architecture. The series also includes the RTX 5080 at $999, maintaining its predecessor's price, and the RTX 5070 Ti at $749. Launch dates are set for January 30 for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, with the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 following in February, capturing the attention of GPU enthusiasts.
