Plaud’s $169 ChatGPT-powered NotePin has a permanent place in my travel bag
The Plaud NotePin is a ChatGPT-powered, wrist- or lapel-worn recording device that transcribes conversations and offers various plans for transcription minutes.
Plaud.AI recently introduced NotePin, a $169 recording device that uses ChatGPT to transcribe conversations. The device can be magnetically attached to a wrist or lapel and operates with simple tap commands for recording and stopping, saving the audio directly to your phone.
The basic plan provided with the NotePin includes 300 free transcription minutes each month. Users can opt for the Pro plan at $6.60 per month, which increases transcription minutes and adds features such as custom templates and an AI Agent for extracting additional information from recordings.
The NotePin is designed for deliberate use, triggering recordings with noticeable haptic feedback and allowing real-time transcription management via an app. While transcription quality and speaker differentiation in multiple languages are strong points, the lack of interactive playback for transcriptions remains an issue compared to other services like Otter.AI.
