Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Mobile Platform, marking a significant step as its first mid-range chip equipped with AI capabilities. This advancement brings features such as voice-activated assistants and background noise reduction, alongside support for INT4 to enhance the efficiency of generative AI tasks on smaller devices.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 stands out with an 11% improvement in CPU performance due to its latest Kryo CPU, and a 29% boost in GPU output. Despite these increases, the chip is engineered to save power with a 12% reduction in energy consumption. Users will also benefit from Qualcomm’s updated 5G Modem-RF and Wi-Fi 6E FastConnect systems, ensuring faster connectivity and better compatibility.

Beyond performance, the chip introduces additional features such as lossless audio and a triple ISP, enabling simultaneous photo and video capture. This means that cost-conscious Android users can now access advanced AI features and robust speeds without needing high-end devices.
