Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge to feature Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for enhanced durability, key specifications revealed
Samsung will soon unveil its new Galaxy S25 Edge, featuring Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, promising state-of-the-art durability and cutting-edge technology.

Samsung is preparing to debut the Galaxy S25 Edge, a device that boasts advanced durability due to the utilization of Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. This innovation by Corning incorporates an ion exchange process that strengthens the glass-ceramic material, enhancing its resistance to cracks and durability without adding extra thickness. Alongside its durability, the Galaxy S25 Edge maintains the aesthetic design of the series with an ultra-slim profile, making it the thinnest in the Galaxy S lineup to date.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is harnessing Corning's cutting-edge display material with embedded crystals, aiming to provide superior crack deflection and high optical transparency. These features are essential for users seeking both functionality and style in high-performance mobile devices. Corning's ion exchange process ensures that the glass has increased damage resistance, allowing users to enjoy the device with less fear of breakage.
Key specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge include a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a sharp resolution of 3120×1440 and a refresh rate of 120Hz, ensuring a smooth visual experience for its users. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, supported by 12GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB, catering to users who demand extensive capacity for applications and multimedia content.
Additionally, the dual-camera system on the Galaxy S25 Edge includes a 200MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and an 85-degree field of view, coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view. The front-facing camera is equipped with a 12MP lens for selfies and video calls. Other notable features include a 3,900mAh battery, IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and advanced connectivity options like USB-C, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7.
The device, running Android 15-based One UI 7, integrates all Galaxy AI features available on the existing Galaxy S25 series. Its launch is set for May 13, starting in South Korea ahead of a global distribution. Although official prices have not been announced, the anticipated costs for the 256GB and 512GB models are $1,049 and $1,149, respectively. This new release demonstrates Samsung's continuous commitment to combining cutting-edge technology with user-driven innovation.
