Slack AI will generate transcripts and notes from huddles
Salesforce adds AI to Slack for automated transcription, note-taking, and task automation.
Salesforce has rolled out new AI capabilities designed to enhance productivity on its Slack chat platform. Key features include Slack AI huddle notes, which capture key takeaways and action items, allowing users to concentrate on their work. This is an advanced version of a previous feature that created summaries of channel highlights and thread activities with one click.
The new features also enable Slack AI to generate transcripts from real-time audio during huddles and messages shared in threads. These notes are then organized with citations, action items, and shared files into a canvas viewable later by all huddle attendees, even those who missed the live event. Additionally, the AI search functionality has been updated to provide personalized results based on user-uploaded files and apps like Google files.
Further innovation comes from the AI Workflow Builder, which automates tasks based on user prompts without requiring programming skills. Another timesaving addition includes Slack templates, pre-configured for tasks such as project management, feedback collection, and help request triage. These new AI features are offered as a paid add-on for all Slack subscription plans, with templates becoming available in October 2024.
