: Square Enix may take legal action against a third-party tool in FF14. Naoki Yoshida assures player data safety. Such tools are prohibited in the game. Yoshida emphasizes maintaining a secure player environment.

Final Fantasy 14's producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, emphasized to the gaming community the company's stance against the use of third-party tools in the MMORPG. Recently, a specific tool has emerged that exploits in-game character information, prompting Square Enix to consider legal measures against its usage.

Yoshida clarified on The Lodestone that the contentious tool displays segments of an FF14 character's internal account ID to correlate data across service accounts. However, he reassured that personal player information like addresses or payment details remain protected and inaccessible by these tools.

Square Enix remains committed to providing a safe gaming environment, discouraging the use and dissemination of these third-party tools. Yoshida reiterated the game's strict prohibition on such tools, highlighting a history of issues like the past disruptions during the Ultimate Raid challenges due to similar cheating tools.
