Starfield’s big Shattered Space expansion isn’t weird enough
Starfield's Shattered Space expansion is visually appealing but lacks innovation in gameplay.

Starfield's Shattered Space expansion introduces players to a strikingly depicted planet, set in vivid red and purple hues and teeming with strange growths and creatures. This setting serves as the backdrop for a new narrative focusing on the House Va'ruun, a religious sect facing mysterious calamities.
Despite the potential for an original experience, Shattered Space relies on familiar gameplay mechanics involving dungeon explorations and item collection missions. The expansion remains true to the core Starfield formula, presenting new characters and storylines but not breaking new ground in terms of interactive experience.
The expansion is condensed into one densely populated planet, similar to Fallout 4's Far Harbor expansion, providing engaging sidequests. However, Shattered Space ultimately leaves players wanting more, as it fails to deliver the freshness and novelty expected after such a long wait.
