Valve has rolled out a significant update for their Steam Link app, version 1.3.12, enhancing the gaming experience with new features. This update brings support for the AV1 codec for high-end PCs, HDR streaming on Windows, and the capability to disable low-latency audio on the platform.

The app now includes compatibility with over 500 Android devices, providing tailored setting recommendations based on network test results and introducing a WiFi lock to maintain streaming integrity. Furthermore, it supports the Nintendo Switch Pro controller and introduces surround sound options for Android TV devices.

Language support is expanded to include Indonesian translations and an English fallback if non-latin fonts fail. Although AV1 encoding isn't supported on portable devices like Nvidia Shield or Steam Deck, the update extends similar features to Raspberry Pi cards and proposes fixes for Nintendo Switch Pro controllers.
