Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat meet in Fortnite's Season 2 update.

Fortnite, renowned for its vibrant battle royale platform, is set to feature a highly anticipated crossover where fighters from Mortal Kombat will battle against Street Fighter legends like Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile. This marks the first official time characters from both famous franchises will appear together in a video game, with Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat debuting in the new season's battle pass.
Prior Street Fighter characters have been available in Fortnite since 2021, including Ryu and Chun-Li, followed by Cammy, Guile, Blanka, and Sakura. Recently, Fortnite hosted a live event showcasing a dramatic showdown between characters Daigo and Hunter X, signaling the thematic elements and storytelling Fortnite continues to develop with its chapters and seasons.
Mortal Kombat's arrival on February 21, 2025, coincides with Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, which will feature a criminals theme and various new skins, such as a giant pickle. Fans eagerly anticipate seeing how Fortnite's non-gory style will interpret Mortal Kombat's notorious violence, adding a new dimension to the already diverse gameplay experience.
