Telegram introduces third-party verification, NFT gifts, and search filters.

: Telegram's latest update includes third-party verification for accounts, using authorities like food quality regulators. Users can now convert gifts into NFTs, with transactions involving Telegram Stars and TON crypto wallets. The update also adds emoji reactions and refined search filters across chats.

Telegram has released its first update of the year, enhancing user experience with new features. This major update includes a third-party verification system allowing authorities such as food quality regulators to verify accounts, which helps in reducing misinformation. Verified accounts will display a logo specific to the third-party verifier instead of the traditional blue checkmark.

In an innovative step, Telegram has introduced the option to turn gifts into NFTs with custom icons and backgrounds. Users can send these NFT gifts by purchasing Telegram Stars via the app or through the Fragment site using a TON crypto wallet. Additionally, users can trade these NFTs on multiple platforms, albeit with a charge to upgrade gifts to collectibles to offset blockchain transaction costs.

Further enhancing user interaction, the chat application has introduced emoji reactions for service messages. Moreover, there are new search filters available for private chats, group chats, and channels, augmenting the user's ability to filter conversations efficiently.
