Tetsuwan Scientific is making robotic AI scientists that can run experiments on their own
Tetsuwan Scientific creates AI scientists to automate experiments.

Cristian Ponce and Théo Schäfer founded Tetsuwan Scientific after realizing the potential of AI in laboratory automation. Their company uses modified lab robots with AI capabilities such as GPT-4 to identify and address scientific problems, like interpreting DNA gels and providing solutions.
The co-founders address previous challenges by enhancing software and sensors for robotic decision-making. Tetsuwan's robots, currently aiding La Jolla labs, have attracted investment, raising $2.7 million from backers including 2048 Ventures and Carbon Silicon.
Tetsuwan Scientific envisions AI scientists automating the entire scientific method, from hypothesis generation to result replication. Such advancements hold the promise of significant growth in scientific discovery, alongside efforts from other entities like FutureHouse and Potato.
