The cheapest Cybertruck is now almost $100,000

Tesla stopped selling its base Cybertruck and raised the prices of remaining versions, with the cheapest now costing nearly $100,000.

: Tesla has discontinued the $60,990 RWD Cybertruck, increasing the price of the AWD variant to $99,990. The high-end Cyberbeast model also saw a price hike to $119,990. Delivery times have improved but come amid issues like recalls and falling profits for Tesla.

Tesla has ceased offering its $60,990 RWD Cybertruck, the cheapest version available, and has raised the price of the AWD variant to $99,990, effectively increasing the starting price by $39,000. Additionally, the tri-motor Cyberbeast version now costs $119,990, up from its previous price of $99,990 prior to August 6th.

The price increases come against the backdrop of previous promises from Tesla in 2019, when the starting price for the Cybertruck was announced as $39,990. On a positive note, Tesla has improved delivery times, with estimates for the AWD Cybertruck now set between August and September 2024, and for the Cyberbeast between October and December 2024.

However, the news follows Tesla's recent struggles, including two recalls this year due to faulty accelerator pedals and wiper blades. Broader issues for the company include a rocky period characterized by declining profits, federal investigations, lawsuits, and additional recalls.
