Sony is gearing up to launch a Mario-like adventure game for the PS5, inspired by its adorable Astro Bot mascot. This exciting new title is scheduled to be released on September 6 and promises to be a delightful experience for gamers. To commemorate the launch, Sony has unveiled the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller, which is set to be available on the same day.
The new controller is designed as a tribute to Astro Bot, who first appeared in a collection of VR minigames in 2013. Adorned with robotic eyes on the touchpad and signature blue accents on the handles and buttons, the controller is described by Sony as a “true work of art.” The new adventure game will take full advantage of the DualSense controller's capabilities, enhancing the player's experience through its refined haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
These new features allow players to feel different textures and responses, such as the thruster rattling when using a jetpack. Priced at $80, the themed controller ships on the same day as the game, September 6, and pre-orders begin on August 9. A demo of the new Astro Bot game played in June has received positive feedback, with words like “fantastic” and “infused with childlike joy” describing the experience.
