Nintendo unveils Switch 2 accessories: camera, GameCube controller, cases, and more.

Nintendo has unveiled a range of official accessories for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, set to enhance the gaming experience with innovative features and nostalgic elements. Among these accessories are a dedicated camera and a wireless GameCube controller, each designed to integrate seamlessly with the new console’s capabilities. These additions aim to provide both modern functionality and a touch of classic gaming nostalgia.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is a compact USB-C accessory that connects directly to the console, enabling video chat functionalities and in-game camera features. Its wide-angle lens is adjustable, ensuring optimal framing for various room sizes, and the high-sensitivity image sensor automatically adjusts brightness to detect faces effectively. For privacy, the camera includes a built-in shutter to cover the lens when not in use. This accessory is priced at $59.99 / £49.99.
In a nod to classic gaming, Nintendo is releasing a wireless GameCube controller compatible with the Switch 2. This controller allows players to enjoy GameCube titles available through the Nintendo Switch Online service, offering a nostalgic experience with modern enhancements. The controller is priced at $64.99 / £59.99 and features the new “C” button, which provides quick access to the GameChat function for seamless communication during gameplay.
Additional accessories include the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, retailing at $79.99 / £74.99, which offers features like mappable GL/GR buttons, an audio jack for headphones, and the “C” button for GameChat access. Nintendo also provides carrying cases, such as the All-In-One Carrying Case, designed to store the console, dock, controllers, and game cards, ensuring portability and protection for the system and its components.
These accessories are set to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. Pre-orders for the console and its accessories will begin on April 9, 2025, through various retailers. Nintendo’s introduction of these accessories reflects its commitment to enhancing the gaming experience by blending innovative technology with elements that resonate with long-time fans.
