TikTok loses its bid to pause the law that could ban it next month
TikTok failed to pause a law potentially banning the app, now appeals to the Supreme Court.

A federal court has denied TikTok's request to temporarily pause a law that might lead to the app's ban in the United States next month. This decision is another setback for TikTok in its legal efforts to prevent a total ban of the app within the country.
In response to this denial, TikTok has announced its intention to appeal to the Supreme Court. The company hopes that the court, with its history of protecting free speech, will understand the implications of silencing 170 million TikTok voices globally if the ban comes into effect on January 19th, 2025.
TikTok also pointed out the potential for President-elect Donald Trump to reconsider the app's situation, considering his past statements. Nevertheless, the panel of three judges found the pause unwarranted, leaving TikTok's efforts reliant on the Supreme Court's possible intervention.
