Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi resigns from self-driving truck startup Aurora’s board

Uber CEO resigns from Aurora board, focusing on Uber duties.

: Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi resigns from Aurora Innovation's board, aiming to concentrate more on his role at Uber. His resignation follows Uber's earlier $400 million investment in Aurora, where Khosrowshahi joined the board after Uber sold its self-driving unit. Aurora maintains ties with Uber through a collaboration with Uber Freight and has deals with other startups like Waabi. Shailen Bhatt will replace Khosrowshahi on Aurora's board while Aurora President Ossa Fisher assumes additional responsibilities.

Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, has resigned from the board of Aurora Innovation, a company specializing in autonomous vehicle technology. This decision was effective as of Tuesday and was not due to any disagreements with Aurora but rather to allow Khosrowshahi to focus on his responsibilities at Uber.

Aurora and Uber have a close history, with Uber previously selling its self-driving unit, ATG, to Aurora in 2020 in exchange for an equity stake and a $400 million investment. This deal gave Uber a 26% stake in Aurora, and the companies have continued working together through the Uber Freight collaboration to integrate Aurora's technology.

Aurora's board will now feature Shailen Bhatt, replacing Khosrowshahi. This change comes shortly after Aurora's general counsel, Nolan Shenai, announced his stepping down, with Ossa Fisher, Aurora's president, temporarily filling Shenai's role during the transition.
