Valorant, the popular tactical shooter by Riot Games, is launching a limited beta for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 starting on June 14. This announcement was made during the Summer Game Fest, and the beta will first be available in regions like the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, and Japan, with more regions to follow later.
Riot Games has emphasized that there will be no crossplay between PC and console players to preserve the competitive integrity of the game. The console version has been redesigned specifically for controllers and promises a connected inventory and shared gameplay progression, although it will not allow for crossplay.
Both console and PC players will receive simultaneous updates, including patches, agents, maps, and premium content. Riot Games' production director, Arnar Gylfason, has stated that the goal is to offer the same competitive experience to console players as has been provided to PC players. Valorant is known for its strategic gameplay and holds a significant place in the esports scene.
