Ventiva unveils fanless cooling solution for ultra-thin 40W laptops

Ventiva introduces ICE9, a fanless cooling solution for ultra-thin 40W laptops using ionized air technology.

: Ventiva has launched the ICE9 system, a groundbreaking fanless cooling technology for laptops consuming up to 40W. The system utilizes ionic airflow via Ventiva's Ionic Cooling Engine, enabling ultra-thin and silent designs without fans. ICE9 can't be retrofitted into existing fan-based laptops, requiring new chassis for optimal function. Ventiva plans to debut its 25W laptops at CES 2025, with 40W models expected by 2027.

Ventiva has unveiled the ICE9 system, presenting an innovative solution that allows for fanless cooling in laptops drawing up to 40W. Utilizing patented Ionic Cooling Engine technology, the system moves ionized air molecules to dispel heat, offering laptops the advantage of being ultra-thin and completely silent.

Initially demonstrated for low-power laptops with processors up to 15 watts, ICE9 has evolved to manage 25 watts, and now targets 40 watts for more powerful models. The technology's lack of fans enhances reliability and allows manufacturers the possibility of slimmer designs, potentially accommodating bigger batteries or additional components.

Incorporating this high-power capability demands new laptop designs since ICE9 isn't compatible with existing fan-based models. Ventiva anticipates the market arrival of 40W laptops by 2027, with earlier 25W models scheduled to appear at CES 2025, marking a significant milestone in fanless cooling innovation.
