X is rolling out a dedicated vertical video feed for US users

X launches U.S. vertical video feed amid TikTok uncertainty.

: X introduces a vertical video feed for U.S. users, aiming to capitalize on TikTok's uncertainty. This move follows a Supreme Court-enforced ban, with an expected Executive Order to override it. X had previously experimented with video features, including a standalone TV app.

X is launching a vertical video feed for users in the U.S., aiming to leverage the challenges faced by ByteDance apps like TikTok and Lemon8. The new video tab in the app’s bottom bar provides quick access to video content, enhancing the platform's video experience.

Currently, users who have already downloaded TikTok can continue using it in the U.S., but the app is absent from major app stores for new downloads. This has led to a rush among social media platforms to introduce new features or apps to gain users, with Meta also launching a video-editing app called Edits.

Previously, X attempted to create video-focused sections, and this is their latest effort to enhance the video experience. The social network also launched a TV app for videos from various creators, and its competitor, Bluesky, introduced a custom feed for vertical videos.
