Playtonic Games is bringing a remastered version of Yooka-Laylee named Yooka-Re-Playlee to contemporary gaming consoles. These platforms include the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo systems, hinting at the inclusion of both the current-gen Switch and an anticipated new console from Nintendo.

A spiritual successor to iconic 3D platformers like Banjo-Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon, Yooka-Laylee retains its classic charm while being enhanced with modern updates. Improved graphics, new adversaries, and adjustments to controls and camera angles are among the game’s refurbishments.

Moreover, the original score, composed by Banjo-Kazooie’s Grant Kirkhope and Donkey Kong Country’s David Wise, will be performed by a full orchestra for the remaster. Created through a successful 2015 Kickstarter campaign, Yooka-Laylee offers a vibrant world with the protagonists, a chameleon and a bat, as they thwart Capital B, a villainous CEO attempting to steal all the books using a giant vacuum.
