Your iPhone 16 may get its first Apple Intelligence features later this month

iOS 18.1 brings AI to iPhone 16 on Oct 28, enhancing Siri and adding AI features.

: The iPhone 16 will receive its first Apple Intelligence features with the iOS 18.1 update on October 28th. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reports that AI-powered notification summaries will be included, along with improvements to Siri and writing tools. While these features debut for iPhone 16, they are also available in beta for Macs and iPads with Apple silicon. Significant Apple Intelligence functionalities are expected by March next year.

The iPhone 16 is scheduled to receive its first Apple Intelligence features on October 28th with the rollout of iOS 18.1. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned in the Power On newsletter that users can expect AI-powered notification summaries as part of this update.

In addition to notification summaries, the update will bring enhancements to Siri, particularly in understanding user speech, and introduce writing tools. Furthermore, users will notice a new rainbow-colored glowing edge when summoning Siri on a phone or iPad.

Apple Intelligence support is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and later models but is also available in beta for Macs and iPads with Apple silicon. Features such as Apple’s Image Playground and Genmoji are anticipated by December, with more advanced functionalities expected by March of the following year.
